Will police protect me if I give up gang information in exchange for lesser sentence?

I know some sersious stuff that the police would want to know. I'm trying to get out of my burglary charge. Can I use this info to get a better sentence? If I give them this info, will they make sure people won't come after me when I get out?

It might be a good idea to discuss this with the county prosecutor. There are witness protection programs in effect in some jurisdictions, but you will have to discuss the matter with the prosecutor. Nothing in life is a guarantee except death and taxes, unfortunately, but law enforcement will try and make sure that you stay safe and that they "have your back", so to say.
