What can happen when I’m late to register as a sex offender?

I was supposed to do my annual registration on the 12th this month but had previously believed it was the 21st when I was supposed to. Now I'm late to register in time. I need an updated ID with my address and still have not been able to get it updated due to lack of proof of address. But I am still willing to go register and am afraid because of the violation. What can I possibly expect to happen?

If you are only a few days late, I would guess the police will give you a pass. Explain your situation to them, perhaps they can refer you to a social service agency which can get you set up with a place to reside that is within the regulations of the Sex Offender Program.
