If I ignore an officers request and enter my home, can they enter after me and arrest me?

I was in my front yard 4 days ago shooting a little .22 rifle at a target placed safely in front of a sand bank and sand bags, ensuring that the bullet never penetrated through the sand. I live on a 3 acre property, with neighbors roughly 5 -7 acres away. The police arrived at my property and said I was discharging a fire arm in a public area. Well I told them this was my private land and for better words "they could eat it" and left them in the front yard as I entered my home. Next thing I know, the officers are entering my home, guns drawn, exclaiming that I was resisting them and fleeing the police. I was arrested, however, due to me not having any "serious" priors, was released or rather bonded out. Can the police come into my private home and arrest me like that?
