How much will it cost to hire an attorney to defend me in court?

I know I'm going to get charges against me any day. The police have been talking to my neighbors about me and I think they're going to arrest me for a rape they think I did. Should I get an attorney now? Or will that just look bad and make me look guilty? How much is one going to cost? After they arrest me can I be bonded out? Do they let you bond out if you get a rape charge?

It sounds like you are talking about rape. If so, plan on spending a lot. These types of cases can be very expensive.

Yes get an attorney now. It doesn't matter what it looks like to have an attorney, because they already think you are guilty. You cannot talk your way out of a charge that is already coming your way. Exercise your right to remain silent and tell them you want your attorney present before making any statement. Attorney's can cost anywhere from $100 an hour to $1,000 an hour. You should get a chance to argue bond within 72 hours of your arrest unless they file more charges or you have a probation revocation of something like a natural disaster happens. You have a right to a reasonable bond. A reasonable bond can be anything from $100 to $500,000.

Thr range of fee would be $ 6000 - $ 10000., plus any expert testimony cost. Hiring a lawyer is better if you can do it now. It does not make you look guilty. A rape charge is a bondable offense. THe amount of bond can be agreed upon with the prosecution or argued to the Judge.
