How many priors does it take to get hit with the Habitual Criminal Act?

Also, would a 459 be considered a prior offense to a 484pc and a 496 and is it true they can't prison prior you if you haven't committed a crime in over 5 years?

You can get habitual criminal charges for prior strikes. A residential burglary is a strike. The washout period for prison priors is 5 years after you complete probation or parole, that limits using the conviction to add an additional year to a state prison not for priorability issues. A burglary or a prior felony receiving stolen property can make a petty theft a felony.
