How long does a misdemeanor stay on your record in Georgia?

When I was 16 I got charged with disorderly conduct along with a couple friends of mine. How many years do I have to wait before it will go away and I won't have to keep answering questions about it on applications and interviews?

If you were 16 and the case was in Georgia you should have been treated as a minor. The case would not technically be a conviction. That means it should not show up on any criminal background check other than for law enforcement and national security agency checks.
