Does an inmate have a right to his trial transcripts for free if he can’t afford them?

    The inmate can get a copy of the transcripts from his appellate attorney.

    He does have a right to the trial transcript. However, his appellate attorney will get it first, then when the appellate attorney is finished with the trial transcript, the inmate can view it.
