Do arrests show up on background checks?

I know that convictions show up on background checks, but what about arrests? If you were arrested, but the charges were dropped, would my arrest show up?

    It depends on the level of background check. Employers, other than government, can only obtain conviction data.

    They can. It depends on the level of the background check. If it is important you can seek to have your arrest record sealed.
