Can multiple people be convicted of possession of the same item?

Girlfriend's brother picked her and I up from the airport. I knew he had a history of selling drugs, but mostly weed and nothing too heavy or anything like that. I know it is still bad, but I did not think it would be a big deal for him to pick us up. We got pulled over, the cop said it smelled like weed (which it did). They searched the car, found weed in bags and about 60 ADHD pills (not his). He hasn't really owned up to the police that it was his.

Yes many people can be in constructive possession of the same substance. Without an aggressive defense attorney, one can stand the chance of being convicted and going to prison.
