Can I get arrested if someone’s accusing me with no proof?

My coworker had some stuff missing from his locker in the break room and for some reason started accusing me of stealing it. I don't like the guy but why would I ever take his stuff? He told our shift manager that it was me and said he was going to file a police report. Can they arrest me on just his word without any actual proof that I had anything at all to do with it?
