Can a DUI get pushed down to wreckless driving?

I want to get wreckless driving charges instead of a DUI on my record. How can I do that? I was speeding 35 miles over the limit on the expressway. This happened in IL.

It can be reduced. It is entirely up to the prosecutor's discretion whether to reduce the case. It depends on the facts in your case, and your history. I would not hold your breath for a reduction, they are quite rare.

It's possible, but you won't get any favors. You will have to find flaws in the State's case to create even the possibility of a charge reduction.
