The FBI is in search of a blonde woman in her 20′s believed to be behind a string of bank robberies last month. The “Ponytail Bandit” is being sought in connection with a May 8th bank robbery in Austin, Texas and very similar bank robberies later that month in Roseville, California and Lynnwood, Washington. Judging from surveillance footage from all three banks, the FBI has characterized the unknown woman as wearing a baseball hat with a blonde ponytail pulled through its back opening and having a distinctive, arms-fold stance and a slouch. Apparently, the “Ponytail Bandit” is a University of Texas fan as she was seen donning a Longhorns cap in one of the robberies. In all three cases, the woman calmly handed a note to the teller demanding money and then left the bank on foot. The FBI believes that this rare bank robber has moved to the Pacific Northwest and is of course encouraging anyone with information on the “Ponytail Bandit” to contact them.
