Bettendorf Iowa police charged Robert Alan Fry of Rock Island Illinois with burglary after finding his identification card at the scene of the crime. Fry had apparently used his Illinois Corrections Department ID to jimmy open the lock of an apartment. He was charged with third-degree burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, and interference.
Fry was release from an Illinois prison in January, having served over two years of a 10 year sentence for burglary in Rock Island County. Inmates who are released but are without legal identification, like a driver’s license, can receive a Corrections Department issued ID card to aid in getting an official state ID.
