Four teens were arrested for the random shooting death of a 16-year old boy at a birthday party in American Canyon California. Two of the boys were booked for murder and the others were charged with accessory to murder. Their names were not released because they are juveniles.
After being denied entrance to the party, allegedly one of the boys left and retrieved a gun, which he fired into a crowded garage, striking the victim in the head.
Three of the boys were arrested in their homes after detectives interviewed more than 100 people, including partygoers and acquaintances of the youths. The fourth was brought in by his mother to turn himself in. The boys may be charged as juveniles and face imprisonment until they are 25-years old or they may face life sentences if charged as adults.
The victims father said after learning of the arrests, “It doesn’t bring my son back. We seem to be a society built on violence.”
